At about a week old we gave Adam his first bath. He was indifferent. He pretty much just chilled the entire time. Until he got out and was cold- then he let us know what he thought about that. ;)
My mom got him that cute little robe. We use it at every bath- I'll be sad when he outgrows it!
I thought I'd post a little bit about how Adam's doing after being in our family for a couple weeks. It always surprises me how different each baby is. From the get-go, they all have their own little quirks and preferences. Here are a few of Adam's:
- He poops a good 15+ times per day. If you hear him go, don't rush to change his diaper, there is A LOT more where that came from!
- He will pee and/or poop on you in a split second during diaper changes. You have to be FAST. I've tried to watch for warning signs too. There are NoNe.
- He smiles all the time! Not consciously yet, mind you, but that will come soon I think! Something really fun too- he has dimples!
- We think he can see fairly well already. When he's awake he can focus on your face really well and for longer than you'd think possible for a newborn. We have good conversations already.
- He adores nursing. Most newborns do of course, but Adam likes to eat ALL the time. Like, every 2 hours around the clock. I'm praying that changes real soon!
- Recent discovery- Adam likes the pacifier! Oh thank heavens. I'm really hoping that it helps with the whole wanting to eat every 2 hours thing.
- He fits right in with the rest of the craziness. I've tried to not shush the other kids too much when Adam is around. I want him to get used to the noise level, to a certain extent. It's going well so far and we're all amazed at what Adam can sleep through.
He's a chunk too! At 4 days old he was up to 8 lbs 1oz (1/2 a pound weight gain!) and now at nearly 3 weeks he's 9 lbs 14oz! The % are based on a 2 week old baby (90th% for both height and weight) but still! Despite his impressive weight gain he's still in all newborn clothes. I put a 0-3 month onesie on him and he was swimming in it, so it will be a while.
