Adam recently turned 18 months old- I can't believe it! On one hand the last 18 months have flown by ... On the other it's been a VeRY long year. First his stats, then I'll tell you about our crazy little boy:
Height- 35" tall (off the % charts!)
Weight- 26 lbs (80th%)
So yeah, Adam is a BIG boy. I had an inkling when I had to move him to size 6 diapers at just a year old. He is so tall he's literally pee out of his diaper each and every time. LOL!
Adam is our most active child by a long shot. He's constantly running and climbing and picking things up he shouldn't, then throwing it across the room- you get what I'm saying. He's very bright and strong and add in his height and well, let's just say every day is a new adventure. I've never had to worry about my 15 month old opening the door and running out until Adam. Yes he can open doors and has been for a while now! He pulls stuff off countertops, he climbs up bookshelves, etc. The other day he picked up my bathroom scale, carried it around a while then threw it. Awesome.
As active as he is, I can say it's getting easier. Even in the last month he's learning to listen to his Mama, which is helpful. He is a big cuddler and loves to be held. He shows such emotion on his face it's so fun to watch him while he discovers something new. He adores his brothers and sisters! He loves to play with anything with wheels - cars and trucks to baby strollers or Lego motorcycles. He loves them all! He's teething in all these pictures- can you tell?! Ha! He's getting his molars and it's been brutal. He's kind of a picky eater but I think it's a combination of a phase and liking to eat soft foods because his teeth hurt. He loves cheese, pears, noodles of any kind really, but especially macaroni and cheese, crackers, grapes, cuties oranges, cereal, oatmeal and bread in any form- pancakes, etc. He LOVES milk. And drinks water like crazy. Not a fan of juice or really any thing other than milk or water.
He loves being outside! Playing in the dirt is a huge hobby of his. He started jumping a couple months ago- something most kids don't even attempt to do until after age 2. The good news is he plays hard, then sleeps hard. I've been trying to adjust his nap time schedule from 2 naps a day (10-12 and 2-4) to just 1 nap each day. It's really hard to do anything when you have to schedule around 2 naps! It was a struggle for a while but he's finally doing better. Now he takes 1 mega nap each day from 12:30ish to 4 ish. He says words but not often. He says more, hi, mama, dada, no, done and a few others all the time. He'll repeat you but only when he feels like it. Adrian was saying something about him not talking much one day, so he crouched down beside Adam and said, "What's up dude?" Adam looked up at him and said, "Dude." Ha! His newest word is cookie and he says it a lot, LOL!
